Broadband Access


At present, the more popular cell broadband access technology are: ADSL (Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Loop), FTTX + LAN, 

HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) EOC cable access.


【ADSL】

ADSL technology uses frequency division multiplexing technology to support telephone, broadband services at the same time, do not

 interfere with each other.

Theoretically, ADSL can provide up to 1 Mbps upstream and up to 8 Mbps downstream speeds on a pair of copper twisted pairs within 

5 km, providing both voice and data traffic.

The latest ADSL2 + technology can provide up to 24Mbps downstream rate."Light into the copper back", ADSL technology has been eliminated.



FTTX +LAN

FTTX + LAN is the main current cell broadband access. Access form is divided into: FTTH, FTTB + LAN, FTTC + LAN and so on.

PON, a point-to-multipoint fiber access technology, which consists of the OLT (Optical Line Terminal) on the side, the ONU (Optical Network Unit)

 on the user side, and the ODN (Optical Distribution Network),is a kind of FTTX Main technology.

PON includes ATM PON, Broadband PON, Gigabit PON and Ethernet PON. EPON uplink and downlink are 1.25Gbit/s rate, GPON uplink is 1.25Gbit/s

 rate, downlink is 2.5Gbit/s.

PON Principle: Downstream using broadcast mode, uplink using time division multiple access mode, single-fiber bi-directional transmission, 

full-duplex passive optical network IP data uplink wavelength 1310nm, downlink 1490nm.
