FTTH/0 Catch 78.7% of China's Internet Broadband Access Ports

MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic China) reported on April 24 that the optical fiber network construction in China has speeded up in 2017, with fiber ports accounting for nearly 80 percent.


By the end of March, China's Internet broadband access ports increased 16.7 percent YoY to 720 million, up 28.93 million compared with the end of 2016.


Meanwhile, xDSL ports reduced 3.02 million to 34.31 million compared with the end of last year, accounting for 4.8 percent of the Internet access ports. FTTH/0 ports reached 570 million with a 44.26 million net growth, of which the percentage was up to 78.7 percent from 75.6 percent in the end of last year.


With additions of 756,000, China's mobile communication base stations hit 6.35 million, including 4.185 million 3G and 4G ones which accounted for 65.9 percent of the total.
